Suspended Substrate Stripline

Suspended Substrate Stripline (SSS) is a printed circuit technology that is utilised by TDL for both narrowband and wideband filters. TDL offer designs to cover highpass, low pass, bandpass, bandstop and multiplexer applications. SSS is also used in many of the TDL subsystem products such as switched multiplexers , frequency activity detectors and frequency synthesisers. It is used in many EW applications involving ESM, ECM and ELINT systems.

Benefits offered by SSS technology include:

Printed Technology

Repeatable manufacture

High Reliability

Small volume manufacture

Lumped Element

Lumped element technology is utilised by TDL where applications require a small size, especially at lower frequencies where transmission line devices may be too large. Both narrowband and broadband designs are available from TDL in highpass, lowpass, bandpass, bandstop and multiplexer form.

TDL pays particular attention to the selection of high quality components and the design of the housing so that parasitic resonance and waveguide modes are suppressed to ensure very broad band stops and ultra small packages are achieved.

Benefits offered by Lumped Element technology include:

Miniature size

High Reliability

Connectorised or surface Mount

Combline

TDL offer Combline filter solutions where applications require closely spaced signals to be separated. A high Q structure is very important for narrowband applications, particularly where high powers are involved. Low passband loss, low VSWR and high attenuation are all characteristics of TDL machined filters.

TDL combline filters are offered for bandwidths of 1% to 50% of centre frequency in the frequency range of 100Mhz to 20GHz. Typical stopbands extend to 5x fo with wider bandwidths achievable if required.

Benefits offered by Combline Filters

High Q, low loss

High power

Lowpass & Highpass Filters

TDL’s highly selective lowpass and highpass filters are designed to have very broad passbands and stopbands with lowest possible passband insertion loss and VSWR and high attenuation in the stopbands. TDL has numerous products available covering the DC to 450GHz frequency range.
